We've got a lot of turkeys roaming around these days, too. By the way, I just learned that a "group" of turkeys is called a rafter. (Learn something everyday.)
that first photograph makes me laugh. why are turkeys so funny? (and tasty?)
and yet, more seriously, how is it that they know how to make a photograph so perfect? that first one, it is enough for me. somehow the world assembles itself into art.
Turkeys are shy Erin, like you are. They sneak up to the bird feeder and as soon as they see me off they go. It's funny to see them fly up into a tree and sit on a branch. The perspective is all off.

Sometimes I see a rafter of 50 or more turkeys.
